“Dakota was one of the most important parts of my wedding day. Not only did she take the most perfect pictures, but she was so much fun to be around and had the best attitude. I had a lot of mess ups happen on my wedding day and Dakota played a huge role in me getting through the bad parts without having a meltdown. Dakota was so grateful toward us, but we are the ones who are so thankful for her. She captured parts of our wedding day that we didn’t know would mean anything to us until months later. “Where do I start? Dakota is the most dedicated and talented storyteller. From the minute I inquired with her, she was there for me every step of the way in planning out the details of our shoot. I felt so valued as a client of hers. During the session, there were times that I seriously forgot that I was having my picture taken, because Dakota created an environment where we were so at ease and completely caught up in each other. When I look back at the photos, I see US. I don’t see fake, posed versions of us. I don’t see “the pose the photographer made us do.” I see us being our goofy selves and laughing with each other like we always do. Dakota captured these sweet moments in such a beautiful unique way. She is 110% dedicated to serving her couples. She even waded knee-deep in the water and got nearly soaked from the waterfall to make sure she got the best shots possible! “ I cannot begin to express how amazing Dakota is. She is the most fun, adventure loving, and down to earth soul I have ever met. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients in any way she can. She spent the day in our backseat driving hours out of town for an engagement shoot and spent the entire time just letting us into her heart and getting to knows ours and how ours connect. The shoot itself was the most magical experience I could dream up. She got us laughing and comfortable so fast that having a camera on us didn’t feel weird! She had a way of getting us so free and in the moment with each other that you almost wouldn’t know she was there. Knowing how excited we were to see what photos could have come out of what seemed like a dream shoot, she made the effort to send us plenty of sneaks to fall in love with. Every single last photo had so much creativity and thought put into the shot and editing, yet still felt like such a real version of who we actually are. I am so thankful to not only have a photographer as talented and kind as her, but a new friend who I know would help with anything asked.

Personal Note: You have truly made this experience so much fun and honestly everything I wanted. You don’t know how much of a blessing that is, so people need to know so that you can keep growing and doing what you love! Like, you’ve been way more than my “photographer” and honestly from the first time I met you, it never really felt like this was a business deal - and that’s what anyone wants! On our big day, it’s gonna feel like I have a friend taking those pictures and being there for that moment. I think that’s the most amazing thing because I will literally be surrounded all day by people who I know care about me.

Wedding Day Review: Our wedding day would not have been the same with Dakota. I could go on and on about her talent, but the photos speak for themselves. Instead, I want to focus on what a blessing it is to work with her. For starters, it’s 2020. It is NOT and easy year for anyone to have a wedding, but she consistently checked in with me to see if I needed anything or just wanted to talk. She spent hours on FaceTime with me at moments I was uncertain what our wedding would look like. She is always your friend first and that is life changing in terms of having someone there on your wedding day who actually has your back! I also have never seen anyone be able to create such real moments during photographs! She is very interactive by incorporating the people who mean the most to you to get such real, raw emotions where you forget there’s even a camera on you. If you want photos that resemble who you are and really showcase your relationship, 100% she is your girl.”

“I’ve rewritten this review more times than I’d like to admit. But each time it seems to come out as more of a short story/testimonial, and that just didn’t feel appropriate. But the truth is, there is no “short version” to Dakota Chasity. From our initial FaceTime, she poured her heart and soul into our elopement. She hunted vendors with me, cast vision, awed over my own vision, created the MOST detailed timeline, and rejoiced with us over each step closer to our big day. More than that though, she went above and beyond to create a bond that would be the deciding factor of our contract. She dove into our little love story and absorbed every detail, big and small. She learned what makes us tick, and how we ebb and flow as a couple. To some, you may think “That’s too much, I just need a photographer to get my good side.” If that’s you, Dakota is not your gal. Because when it comes down to your wedding day, you are never going to regret spending those extra couple bucks and minutes on the girl who knows how to capture that sweet little hand rub that sends your heart soaring, or the nose kisses that send butterflies throughout your whole body. Or the way the tears roll down your cheek when you pledge forever to your awaiting husband. If you’re like us, and choose the elopement route versus a big wedding, you are probably prepared to skip out on a lot of things. But I implore you friends, do not take the cheap and easy route to your photographer. The decorations go away, the cake gets eaten, and the flowers die. But these are the keepsakes that will make one of the most important days of your life last forever. And something like that you just can’t put a price tag on. Dakota is truly such a rare talent and soul, and I cannot recommend her enough. Whether you’re just browsing, on the market, or looking to finalize a contract, I encourage you to reach out and message her. She will change your life.”

“I can fill a jar with words, pick one at a time, and give you a story about how each of them encompasses her spirit and compassion. But I could never pick just one. She’s that sort of girl. The sort of girl that you end up on a two hour FaceTime with the first time you ever meet, and probably only 10 minutes of that was spent talking business. The sort of girl that gawks with you over your wedding dress, and then offers you her own wedding day accessories. That goes above and beyond, not only with her phenomenal photography business, but with that one impatient family member that needs to-the-T, pinpoint, exact google map coordinates of your National Forest elopement location... A location which, after your sad and failed attempt through the rain, she so generously hunted down only the day before your planned wedding. The sort of girl who puts your extremely shy and anxious (Type 5) husband in front of the camera and by the end of the day has him requesting his own shot ideas. Who welcomes with open arms an hour and half drive to your favorite spot... and then isn’t afraid to get dirty, maybe even a little brave, and climbs that 100 foot waterfall to get the perfect shot. That wipes yours tears when your bouquet shows up not what you pictured, and then helps you recreate it with bits and pieces of mountainside berries and greenery. The sort of girl who is quick to listen and slow to speak, with a deep desire to understand and compassionate enough to feel the weight of your worries while trying to create the day you’ve been dreaming of your whole life. The sort of photographer who knows to leave some extra space in the timeline (that she created, I should add, to include everything that you surely would have forgotten) for the day of your wedding. Who doesn’t stop snapping until well past sunset. Who captures the nose wrinkles, the finger rubs, the solitary teardrop, and everything in between. Who sits next to you at your reception dinner and fits in to your closest loved ones like she’s been there her whole life. Who pushes the borders of the expected and ordinary, even out of her own comfort zones, to deliver a product so indescribably breathtaking that somehow just one jar of words isn’t enough to encompass the beauty and emotion of everything that she has captured. What Dakota did for us is something that we will never be able to repay her for. She gave us a perfect day, despite its flaws and unforeseen setbacks. She gave us a chance to fall in love all over again at our engagement shoot. She gave us, in tangible form, our feelings and commitment to each other. As a photographer, she is absolutely remarkable. As a human being, Dakota Chasity is unparalleled.”
